CHANTER
**** Cocobolo chanters without keyblocks now stocked and ships within 1 week.****
Available in the key of D (concert pitch) and key of B. Both are tuned to A=440 Hz.
The bore, which is vital to producing the tone/tune of the chanter is fabricated to CJ Dixon's specific design and critical internal dimensions.
All chanters come with mounts, standard brass headpiece, cane reed, and brass ferrule.
Each chanter has been designed to offer a perfect relationship between tone, comfort, balance and ease of play.
CJ Dixon believes that most effort and focus should be on the music produced and not the effort required to play it. His instruments are designed to help minimize the effort in order to maximize musical focus.
A great deal of effort is put into the cosmetics of each chanter and is shown in the detailing on the mounts and brass as well as the beautiful finish.
Each chanter is turned by hand.
Chanters are available with or without keyblocks.
Keyblocks allow for the additon of brass keys.
Brass keys are made of solid brass (no soldering) and are hand forged by CJ Dixon. Additional brass keys available: C natural, Bb, G# and F natural.
Chanters are available in African Blackwood, Rosewood or Cocobolo.
Mounts are available in Maple, synthetic ivory, or any of the chanter wood species.
