BODHRAN

All bodhrans are very high quality and made by CJ Dixon.

Available diameters are 16 & 18 inches.

Rim depths are available anywhere from 4 to 8 inches.

Rims are made of solid laminated Red Oak (no ply used).

Rims are available with or without arm access cutout.

A choice is given to have one or no cross braces.

The skin used is a medium density goatskin which produces a wonderful tone.

A leather band with solid brass upholstery nails covers the raw edge of the skin and adds a very nice cosmetic touch.

Each bodhran comes with a tipper.

The tipper is made with your choice of the following wood species: Cocobolo, Rosewood, African Blackwood or Maple.  Tippers can be made to any length up to 9 inches and are available in lightweight (small head), standard (medium head) or heavy (large head) styles.

Each bodhran has a tunable ring which is easily adjusted using the solid brass tuning mechanisms.  This setup allows for very quick and easy tuning which is very necessary especially when playing gigs. 

All metal components used in the drums are either solid brass or stainless steel.  This not only looks attractive but is very robust and will elliminate corrosion for the life of the drum.

A protective case, which does not come standard with a drum,  is also available.  It is made of a very durable material, allows for quick setup or breakdown, has a side pocket for your tippers and has carry handles for ease of transport. (see below for pictures of case)
